Colours: red, blue and yellow

Today was one of the warmest August days on record - a balmy 29 degrees. The warm, sunny weather makes me feel like it is summer already. Unfortunately, it's really not, unless you're in Europe. Two years ago I was, sigh... now I just have the pictures. On the way to Positano, we spotted this fruit truck packed full of fresh, ripe, colourful fruit. Yum!

The traffic-stopping display of fruit includes:

  • the primary colour palette (red + blue + yellow), which is the foundation of all colour schemes
  • green and red, which are complementary or contrasting colours
  • yellow through the greens are analogous - colours that are adjacent on the colour wheel.

The designers (below) have used this colour palette. The furniture is formal but the colours make it look so inviting.
